A Class of Reduced-Order Regenerator Models

We present a novel class of reduced-order regenerator models that is based on Endoreversible Thermodynamics. The rest upon the idea an internally reversible (perfect) regenerator, even though they are not limited to description. In these models, temperatures working gas alternately streams out regenerator’s hot and cold sides defined as functions state matrix. matrix assumed feature linear spatial temperature distribution. Thus, has only two degrees freedom can, for example, be identified with its energy entropy content. dynamics correspondingly expressed in terms balance equations entropy. Internal irreversibilities can accounted by introducing source equation. Compared continuum or nodal number numerical effort reduced considerably.
